Edwards Snags SOM Honors for First Month of New Swim Year   The CVST coaching has named Ava Edwards (6) as the September Swimmer of the Month.  It’s not often that you see a noticeable difference in a swimmers speed, but Ava’s September Friday Night at the Races was just one of those occasions. CVST Survives Storms & Heat To Swim Well At SPA Meet   CVST trekked across Tampa Bay to Northshore Pool, in St. Petersburg, this weekend for their first big meet of the new swim year.  Although the weather in the morning sessions was relatively comfortable, Friday Evening saw 40+ mile an hour winds, that mangled tents and sent them flying while the afternoons on Saturday & Sunday were in the mid 90's with no breeze.  Hopefully a farewell to the summer and now we will get some comfortable weather in...

Mark Your Calendars - 2013 BG Nat's April 5-7   The dates have been finalized for the 2013 Boys & Girls Club National Swimmig Championships.  The event will be held once again at St. Petersburg's Northshore Pool, April 5-7, 2013.  Mark your calendars now as this is a required volunteer meet for all CVST Families.

Senior Zone Meet Day 3 - Slow Start Picks Up As Day Goes On   Day three of the USA Swimming Southern Zone Senior Championships is complete and the day didn't start off as well as hoped for our CVST Seniors, but it got stronger as the day went on.  The only swims in the Prelims today were the 200 Freestyles where Coery Stein (17) and Emma Volz (17) were a bit off going 2:09.64 and 2:17.15 respectively.  Volz was fast enought to get into the evenings Finals, but Stein...

Senior Zone Meet Day 1 - Volz On Medal Stand In 800 Free   The 2012 USA Swimming Southern Zone Senior Championships got under way tonight in Plantation, Florida, and CVST's Seniors are off to a good start.  Emma Volz (17) swam the Women's 800 Meter Freestyle in a time of 9:35.35, and picked up the 7th place medal.  Corey Stein (17) also swam the 800 Meter Freestyle, finishing 15th, with a personal best time of 9:35.17.   The meet continues tomorrow and runs through Friday at the Plantation Center...

Call Me Maybe? - US Olympic Team Music Video It’s no secret that members of the U.S. Olympic swimming team work hard, but there’s also a little bit of downtime during training camp. In an attempt to blow off a little steam during that spare time, Alyssa Anderson, Kathleen Hersey and Caitlin Leverenz spearheaded this video project, which Leverenz says incorporates about 95 percent of the team.
