First Florida Swimming Athlete Newsletter By CVST Reps Florida Swimming has released the first issue of their new Florida Swimming Athlete Newsletter titled "Through Our Goggles". This issue has ties to CVST, since the the two Athlete Reps elected to the Florida Swimming Board of Directors were Jackie Kenny and Emma Volz. This Newsletter was their idea and has already proven to be a huge success with interest on swimming's dryside pouring in from athletes across the state. Florida Swim Network To Air Replays Boys & Girls Club Nationals Parts of two sessions from this years Boys & Girls Club National Swimming Championships will be rebroadcast on the Florids Swim Network, a web based swimming network that covers major meets throughout Florida and beyond. The sessions are Finals fromFriday, March 30 & Sunday, April 1. Be sure to let anyone interested in watching, like Grandparents, etc.. , know all they have to do is go to www.floridaswimnetwork.com and they will be able to pick up the reairiing.
Volz Wins Mile, Boys & Girls Club National Champion CVST's Emma Volz (17) won the Women's 1650 Yard Freestyle today at the Boys & Girls Club National Swimming Championships, in St. Petersburg. The meet is being held this weekend at the Northshore Aquatic Complex with Prelims beginning at 9:00 am and Finals st 5:00 pm each afternoon.. Each evenings Finals are also being broadcast over the Florida Swim Network at www.floridaswimnetwork.com. CVST Wins B-Champ's Team Spirit Award Last weekend in St. Petersburg, the Carrollwood Village Swim Team brought home the Team Spirit Award at the Harry Meisel Championships West. The Meisel Championships, named after the late and legendary coach out of Orlando, are two developmental meets held on both coasts of Florida over the same weekend. Forsell Takes CVST SOM Award For November The CVST Coaching Staff has named Madeleine Forsell (9) of the CVST Silver-Gold practice Group as the November 2011 CVST Swimmer of the Month. Madeleine earned the award based on her performance at the CVST Invitational, held at Emerald Greens. During the meet, Madeleine swam to four personal best times including a drop of 40+ seconds in the 100 Yard Individual Medley and almost seven seconds in the 100 Yard Freestyle.
