NCAA to Follow International Swimming Rules NCAA The NCAA Playing Rules Oversight Panel recently approved a proposal stating NCAA men's and women's swimming and diving teams will follow the International Swimming Federation technical rules. This change, along with others approved, is effective for the 2017-18 academic year. As the opportunities for swimmers to compete under USA Swimming and International Swimming Federation rules in the off-season continue to grow, it is believed that creating continuity between rules will benefit student-athletes. Salgado Picks Up Back to Back CVST SOM Awards For the second consecutive month, the Carrollwood Village Swim Team has named Catalina Salgado as the Swimmer of the Month. For the Month of May, the 11 year old Senior 2 practice group swimmer raced to 14 personal best times with an average improvement of 7.75%. At the Brandon Blue Wave Invitational, Catalina swam to 11 personal best times out of 11 events including her first 800 meter Freestyle and first 400 meter Individual Medley. CVST Has Great Tampa Bay Swim Classic This year’s Tampa Bay Swim Classic was a great success with fast swims and best times. The 10 & unders swam super fast with Morgan Labella (9) dropping a total of 16.38 seconds and Maddie (Mad Dog Jr.) Stenberg (8), dropping 21.84 seconds total for the meet.
