My name is Coach Abel Hernandez. I started swimming when I was six years old as a shy and very energetic kid, and I never left the sport. Swimming changed my life, and today, after more than 30 years of coaching, I still love helping young athletes grow.

I am a former Cuban National Team swimmer, and I have had the opportunity to coach swimmers in Cuba, Mexico, and the United States. Along the way, I have been blessed to coach athletes who won two gold medals at the 2017 Junior Parapan American Games in São Paulo, a South American champion in 2018, a bronze medal at the 2019 Parapan American Games in Lima, and many Mexican age-group national champions, medalists, and record holders.
