October Nutrition Challenge - Eat the Rainbow
For the month of October, the Nutrition Challenge will be to eat different colored fruits and veggies. fruits and veggies they ate prior to coming to practice for the day. The reasoning behind this challenge is that different colored fruits and veggies supply different vitamins and minerals, so the more variety of colors you eat, the more various vitamins and minerals you will consume. The numbers will be documented on the sheets in the office window and the swimmer(s) in each Practice Group with the most different colors at the end of the month will be the winners! The goals of these nutrition challenges are to get these young athletes thinking about what they’re putting in their bodies and to develop healthy eating habits for their futures. As always, the challenge is optional but highly recommended.
