CCC IMPORTANT NOTICE : Independence Day Celebration

Wednesday, August 12, 2020 Dear Carrollwood Country Club Members, I am writing to you concerning Carrollwood Country Club’s already postponed Independence Day Celebration. In mid-May, when we made the decision to postpone to late October, it seemed that the COVID-19 pandemic threat was beginning to flatten and that reported cases were on a downward trend. Unfortunately, in late June and throughout the Summer, the reported daily cases increased dramatically. Due to the continued uncertainty surrounding the Country, the State, and the Greater Tampa Metropolitan area related to the COVID – 19 pandemic, and with many states rolling back reopening, school attendance in limbo, spectator-less sporting events, and election year national conventions being cancelled, we still do not anticipate large crowds of people being permitted to congregate together by the end of the year, and this event draws over 5,000 spectators annually. Based on these factors and in an abundance of caution, we have made the decision to postpone the Celebration until Saturday, July 3, 2021. Personally, I am disappointed that our annual festivities will be postponed; however, I do believe it is the most prudent decision I can make for the health and well-being of our Members, invited guests, and employees at Carrollwood Country Club.
