Polk and Santo Set the Quarantine Standard

From Day 1 of the CVST Quarantine, both Molly Polk and Brady Santo had other plans to maintain their training. There’s a single word to describe these two CVST Gold Groupers: DRIVEN. The Coaching Staff requested that all our athletes send in pictures of what you’re doing to stay active to motivate each other, hold each other accountable, and to stay in shape. These athletes were in our email inboxes daily with long runs, intense workouts, and even some pool swims. In addition, they each completed every single challenge that was provided throughout the month we were off.

Santo spent a lot of time running with his family and when we were able to return to the pool on a limited schedule, he could still be seen on his off days in the pool. He was often one of the first people to send in his completed challenges.

Polk did all kinds of workouts from home, from running to high intensity training over the web. She also completed every single challenge we threw at her with an intensity that was unmatched by her peers.

Both of these athletes set a stellar example for their peers, approaching a situation that could have been extremely frustrating, debilitating, and season ending with gusto- making the best at every turn. We could all use a little more Brady and Molly attributes as we continue to ride out the #CVSTvsCOVID wave. These two have reminded us that what might look like an obstacle, may actually be a tremendous opportunity for growth both in and out of the pool.
