Maddie Polk Named CVST January SOM
The Carrollwood Village Swim Team has named Madelaine Polk as the 2018 January Swimmer of the Month. At the FGST invite held at the Florida Gulf Coast University, the ten-year-old Gold practice group member raced to personal best times in seven out of ten events with an average improvement of 5.06%. Maddie raced to best times in her 200 and 500 yard Freestyle, 50 yard Backstroke, 100 yard Breaststroke, 50 yard Butterfly, and 100 and 200 yard Individual Medleys. Maddie raced to monster timed drops in her 500 yard Freestyle 28.80 seconds, 200 yard IM 8.42 seconds, and 200 yard Freestyle 7.04 seconds in which she qualified for the Florida Swimming Open Water Festival also to be held in Fort Myers in April.
