Tune-In for Sunday’s Golden Goggle Awards and Red Carpet Pre-Show

LOS ANGELES – Unprecedented coverage is set for USA Swimming’s upcoming Golden Goggle Awards, which will honor our nation’s top swimmers for their 2017 performances Sunday at the JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. LIVE.
The evening kicks off with exclusive, live coverage on USASwimming.org and via Facebook Live with Olympic medalist hosts Cullen Jones and Kaitlin Sandeno beginning at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT interviewing the members of this year’s FINA World Championships on the red carpet.
The 14th annual Golden Goggle Awards, the celebration and fundraising gala honoring the sport’s top performances of the year, follow at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT with a live webcast on USASwimming.org. The nation’s top swimmers and coaches are nominated in eight categories.
For the first time, the Olympic Channel will televise the Golden Goggle Awards on delay from 6:30-8 p.m. ET on Dec. 18.
This year’s event will be emceed by actor, comedian and former swimmer Anders Holm and feature entertainment from The Second City improvisational comedy group.

Proceeds from the Golden Goggle Awards benefit the USA Swimming Foundation, which has the mission to save lives and build champions – in the pool and in life. In addition to its Make a Splash initiative, a national, child-focused water safety campaign that stresses the importance of learning to swim, the USA Swimming Foundation supports the U.S. National Team and its development efforts aim to establish an endowment to strengthen the future of USA Swimming’s programs and services. The Foundation also serves as the home for our National and Olympic Team Alumni reunions and regional events.
