Important CVST Information from Coach Jim

Important CVST Information from Coach Jim

It’s with great pride and a little bit of sadness that I write this today to let everyone know that Coach Maria will be leaving the CVST Program at the end of the month to pursue her Doctorate in Physical Therapy.  In the near four years that Maria has been coaching with us, we’ve watched the program grow, and more importantly we’ve watched the kids grow with and through their interactions with her.  I want to thank her personally and publicly for all she has done for me and  the team.  We wish her the best in Miami, at the University of St. Augustine and beyond.

As of next week, we will be making two additions to the coaching staff and over the rest of the month they’ll be working with Coach Maria and the Bronze Group to allow for a smooth transition.  We would like to welcome Jennifer Ordetx and Meredith “Raspberry” Seibold to the coaching staff.

Jennifer Ordetx brings lots of coaching experience to the team, coming from a swim coach father and swimming official mother.  Most recently Jenn coached Steinbrenner High School Swim Team and most of you already know her kids Lila and Ella.

Meredith or Raspberry" as the kids know her, is starting out at the same point as Maria did four years ago.  She has experience teaching swim lessons within our own SwimAmerica program and has taught some of our current swim team members the competitive strokes. She has tremendous patience earned from her many siblings and from her swim instructor experiences. Meredith currently swims in the Senior 1 Practice Group.

I have no doubts that these two will bring tremendous energy to the team as a whole and to the Bronze Group in particular.  Please help in supporting them in any way you can as they get used to their new positions with CVST.

We will officially be announcing this to the swimmers tonight, at practice, as a group.  Maria has asked that no one say anything to the kids prior to practice tonight so she can be the one to let them know in person that she is going to school. We just wanted to give all the parents a heads up before the announcement.

Thank you and if you have any questions, please see me at the pool.

Go CVST!
