July 2016 – Jackson Houck (11) - The Carrollwood Village Swim Team has named Jackson Houck as the July Swimmer of the Month. For the month, the 11 year old senior 2 practice group member swam to ten best times out of ten events. At the St. Petersburg Aquatics Last Chance meet held at the beginning of July, Jackson swam to best times in the 100m Freestyle, 50m backstroke, 50m butterfly, and 100m butterfly. Jackson largest improvement came in his 100m butterfly where he dropped 6.61% and 5.87 seconds off his previous best. At the Area 3 meet held at the end of the month, Jackson swam to best times in his 50yd freestyle, 100yd freestyle. 200yd freestyle, 50yd butterfly, 100yd butterfly, and 100yd individual medley. Jackson’s biggest improvements came in his 100yd butterfly where he dropped 12.26 seconds or 7.24%, and the 100yd IM where he dropped 7.69 seconds or 8.06%. For the month, Jackson dropped and average of 4.27% off of every best time.
