First-time Olympians will make up more than half of the swim Class of 2016, a slight uptick from four years ago. Of the 45 team members for the Rio Games, 30 are rookies. Several are solid medal contenders. The rest will face the usual challenge of avoiding the happy-to-be-there syndrome and racing rather than being athletic sightseers.
