CVST's Zambito Added to Florida Swimming Open Water Zone Team
The Florida Swimming Open Water Championships, and LSC Challenge (All-Star Team Event) were held Sunday, April 26th in Ft. Myers at Miromar Lakes and the Florida Swimming Open Water Zone All-Star Team was selected from that event. CVST's Maria Zambito (20) just missed making the team, but due to some new developments, Zambito has been named to the team.
Florida Swimming Zone Open Water Zone All-Star Team Head Coach, Cashel Mack, said, "We are lucky Maria has decided to join the team. Her love of open water swimming and her terriffic leadership skill will be a huge added benefit to the team."
The Team will be headed to North Carolina for the USA Swimming Southern Zone Open Water Championships, where the Sandhills Sandsharks and North Carolina Swimming are hosting the events June 5-7.
Zambito will compete in the Open Women's 5K and possibly the Open Wonen's 3K Pursuit (Relay).
