CVST Goes the Distance
At Berkeley Prep, last Friday, a handful of CVST swimmers rose to the challenge of a distance swim meet on Friday the 13th no less.
Logan Ingerick (11) led the group off with a Florida Age Group Championship cut in the 1000 freestyle to go 12:01.45. More impressive, he did it in his 1650 freestyle toughing the wall in 20:28.68. Kayla Rodriguez (11), Madison Houck (10), Jackson Houck (10), Reagan Cassels (10), Jayden Repak (8), and Ava Edwards (8) all earned their Boys and Girls Club Nationals cuts in the 500 free. It was also all their first times swimming the event. Repak also set a new 8&Under
CVST Short Course Yard Team Record
in the 500 free with a time of 7:14.01. Madison Ratchford (8) swam so fast her first half of the 500 she went a personal best 200 time of 3:28.42.
Great work to the few swimmers who attended the meet and had the courage to swim a new event on Friday the 13th!
