CVST Earns Spirit Award at B Championships

Carrollwood Village Swim Team swam fast at Harry Meisel B Championships West in St. Petersburg and earned the Florida Swimming Team Spirit Award with their theme, Snowmen.
On Saturday of the meet Tyler Bowles (14) began by dropping over 12 seconds in the 200 individual medley to go a 2:29.59. Maddie Stenberg (6) dropped 1.22 seconds in the 50 freestyle to go 1:00.63, narrowly missing the minute mark. Madison Ratchford also swam the 50 free dropping 1.33 seconds to go 40.58. Sophia Hasara (12) dropped over 17 seconds in the 500 free to go a 7:27.39 followed by Bella Salgado (12) dropping over 20 seconds to go 8:21.59. Ava Edwards (8) dropped over 6 seconds in the 100 individual medley to go a final time of 1:46.72. Kaitlin Depies (9) also swam the 100 individual medley dropping almost 10 seconds to go an impressive 1:41.92. Ethan Elliott (10) swam the 100 back dropping over 4 seconds to go a quick 1:54.66. Cat Salgado (9) swam the 200 free to drop 34.24 seconds finishing with a final time of 3:30.52.
Sunday, Abby Forman (13) had a 1.02 second drop in the daunting 200 fly to go 2:42.01. Lauren Kenny (13) and Logan Tirheimer (13) swam this event for the first time successfully. Kenny achieved a time of 3:34.88 placing 5th overall and Tirheimer with a 2:56.92 placing 3rd earning points for the overall team score. Jayden Repak (8) dropped almost 2 seconds in the 50 breast to go a speedy 48.73. Placing 3rd in the Boys 400 individual medley, Logan Ingerick (11) dropped over 15 seconds racing to a final time of 5:27.40. Henry Walz (12) swam the 100 breast dropping 26.37 seconds to hit the wall in a brisk 1:55.10. Savannah Kaddouri (10) dropped 2.70 seconds to go 39.45 in the 50 free. Kaitlyn Labella finished up the meet in the 200 individual medley dropping 2.42 seconds to go 3:05.94 placing 3rd.
Congratulations to Mabry Bishop (10) who dropped 5.24 seconds in the 100 butterfly to earn her Florida Age Group Championships (FLAGS) qualifying time of 1:22.98. Bishop already has multiple freestyle cuts and is excited to add more to her plate for FLAGS in March.
Great efforts were made by all swimmers who participated in the meet. Keep working hard as we approach the ATAC Crutchfield Invitational in Tallahasee this January and congratulations on winning that Team Spirit Award for the 4th consecutive year!
