There’s no cold quite like Morning Practice Cold. It’s a cold that permeates your clothes, your skin, and your bones. It’s a cold that shakes your core, leaving you so discombobulated you regret ever becoming a swimmer. When you trudge through frozen water to jump into freezing water --  and the sky is still night and sand is in your eyes and your non-swimming friends are all tucked in bed and warm and sleeping and meanwhile you’re staring down 25 yards of a two-hour ice blue cold shower -- you begin to hate life a little.
