May 2013 – Emma Volz(18) - For her efforts this Open Water Season, the CVST coaching staff has named Emma Volz as the 2013 May Swimmer of the Month. At the 2013 Florida Swimming Open Water Championships in Fort Myers, Florida, Emma finished 3rd in the Women’s 5K Race, helping lead her team to a top 6 finish in the State.
Less than a week later, Volz led the way again, however this time she led everyone in the Annual Hurricane-Man 2.4 Mile Rough Water Swim, held off the coast of St. Pete Beach, in the Gulf of Mexico. Volz won the Overall Champion Award with the fastest women’s time in the entire event and 5th fastest time, male or female in the 500+ swimmer event.
