CVST Age Groupers Shine at FNR

CVST Age Groupers Shine at FNR

Swimmers from the CVST Silver-Gold and Bronze Groups shined this past Friday and the CVST July Friday Night at the Races.  The meet was held at the Emerald Greens Rec Center Pool and was a make up from the previous Friday's rain out.

The group swimming from  CVST was small, due to summer vacations and the FLAGS Meet taking place in Orlando, but the performances were huge!  Led by Jack Mastandrea and his five First Place finishes in the 7-8 Boys 50 Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly and the 10&Under 100 Individual Medley the team was well on their way to an evening of great performances.  Also having a big night was Jim Orchard who picked up 4 First Place ribbons in the 11-12 Boys events and a 6th in the 11&Over 100 IM.  Lila Saleh finished first in 3 events in the 12&Under Girls events as well as a 4th and 5th place.  Sky Steele swam to two First Place Finishes in the Senior Girls 100 Breast and the 100 Fly while also picking up a second, seventh and eighth.  Donovan Simonton, last month's CVST Swimmer of the Month picked it up right where he left off with a great night of swimming and five third place finishes in the 12&Under Boys.  Alex Mastandrea, not wanting to be out done by his older brother had a couple of big swims, especially in the 6&Under boys 25 Free and 25 Breast where he took first places to go along with two second places and a fourth place.  Isabella Bahr picked up her First Place finish in the 10 &Under 100 IM, but swam 12&Under for the rest of her events where she had two second Places and Third and a Fifth.  Abby Akers swam best times and finished with two Fourth Places a Fifth Place and two Sixth Places.  And finally CVST's newest member, Kayden Alvarado-Fox had four Second Place finishes  in the 6&Under Girls events and a Sixth Place finish in the 10&Under 100 IM.

It was a great night for those who swam, so Congratulations and we look forward to even better performances at the CVST End of Summer Meet coming up on July 30th!
