Kenny, Stein & Volz Share May SOM Honors
CVST has announced a tie for the May 2011 Swimmer of the Award. This months recipients are Emma Volz, Jackie Kenny and Corey Stein all who have been named to the 2011 Florida Swimming Open Water All-Star Team. There are only six male and six female swimmers named to the team in the 15-18 year old age group for the State and CVST has three. Volz, an automatic qualifier, made the team based on her 2nd place overall finish at the Annual Hurricane-Man 2.4 mile Rough Water Swim, held off St. Pete Beach in the Gulf of Mexico. Kenny and Stein made the team based on a combination of their performances at the Hurricane-Man, the 2011 Florida Swimming Spring Senior Championships and the 2010 Florida Swimming Open Water Championships. Congratulations to all three and good luck representing Florida Swimming at the Annual Open Water All-Star Challenge.
