Florida All-Star Volz leads CVST at H-Man Race

Florida All-Star Volz leads CVST at H-Man Race
CVST's Emma Volz (16) led the way for CVST at last weekend's Annual Hurricane-man 2.4 Mile Rough Water Swim. While the weather was great for the race, the Gulf of Mexico was still a bit choppy and even had whitecaps breaking over the race course. Volz was CVST's best finisher with a best time by about a minute for the course. Her time of :51:30.00 was good enough for second place in her age group (15-18 Girls) and third place overall. The event was also a qualifying race for the 2011 Florida Swimming Open Water All-Star Team and Emma's swim got her on the team and she will be one of eight 15-18 year old girls representing Florida Swimming, June 12th, in Ft. Myers.
Corey Stein (16) and Jackie Kenny (15) also had personal best times for the course and both finished 10th in their age groups. Stein finished with a time of :51:47.00 and Kenny's time was :54.58.00.
Honorary CVST Senior Group member and fromer CVST Team member Harley Illingworth (14) was back with the group for her second Hurricane-Man with CVST and finished 7th in the 13-14 girls age group with a time of 1:03:06.00.
Rounding out the Group was Courtney Prima (16) and her amazing swim cutting about 9, that's right NINE MINUTES, from her time last year, going a 1:04:31.00.
Congratulations to everyone on a great race and Good Luck to our All-Star Emma!
