CVST Finishes Senior Champ's Same Way They Started
CVST Finished up the 2011 Spring Florida Swimming Senior Championships in they same way they started, going five for five best times on the final day. The day started with Emma Volz (15) going a personal best in one of her off events, the 15-16 Girls 100 yard Freestyle, where she went :57.12. Next up was jackie Kenny (15) in the 15-16 Girls 200 yard Backstroke, where she cut about two seconds from her previous best time going 2:21.70.
Next up was the final event of the meet, the 1650 yard Freestyles, where all three CVST swimmers were entered. First up were Emma and jackie, swimming at the same time in different pools. Emma finished the race with a lifetime best of 17:51.87, finally breaking the 18 minute mark and dropping just over 12 seconds. Jackie finished with a 19:18 in her mile and chopped about seven seconds from her best time. CVST's last swimmer of the meet was Corey Stein (15) who not only went his best time in the mile, but also went his best time in the 1000 yard freestyle going out four seconds faster than the his previous best, a mark he just set three days earlier. For his final time, he went 18:04.96, lowering his personal best by about 22 seconds.
